Dr Melinda Griffiths

Dr Mel has been practicing as a GP in the local area for many years. She initially trained as a registered nurse and went on to study medicine to build on the care she was able to provide to patients. She has wide ranging experience in all areas of medicine, with special interests in women’s health, paediatrics, family planning and antenatal shared care. Current hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

Unfortunately Dr Mel is currently unable to accept new patients.

Dr Bradley Forssman

Dr Brad is a Public Health Physician who sees patients for sexual health, HIV, pre- and post-travel medicine, aviation medicine and immunisations. He is a community S100 prescriber for HIV medications and is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) for CASA, enabling him to provide medical assessments for pilots and flight attendants. He has recently reduced his hours at Fountain Street General Practice to take up a position as Director of Public Health at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
Current hours: Saturdays.

Dr Hamish McArthur

Dr Hamish graduated from Flinders University with both a Bachelor of Science and a medical degree. He has particular interests in men’s health, travel medicine, preventative medicine, paediatrics and cardiovascular medicine.  
Current hours: Mondays to Thursdays.

Dr Hamish works some Saturdays, rotating with the other GPs on a monthly basis.

Unfortunately Dr Hamish is currently unable to accept new patients.

Dr Carole Chung

Dr Carole has a wealth of experience in general practice. Carole graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1985 and moved to Sydney in 1987.  She initially worked at the St George and Prince of Wales Hospitals and has had a number of years experience working part time in the Emergency Department of Sydney Childrens Hospital. She worked as a GP in Newtown for 18 years before moving to Alexandria and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her interests are Paediatrics, Womens Health and Shared Antenatal care.
Current hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dr Carole works some Saturdays, rotating with the other GPs on a monthly basis.

Dr Marc Madeleine

Dr Marc has worked in the inner west for more than 25 years. He is a very experienced GP with interests in paediatrics and men’s health, and worked for many years in the emergency department of Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Current hours: Mondays to Thursdays.

Dr Simon Cowap

Dr Simon Cowap graduated with honours from University of Sydney in 1987 and obtained his Fellowship in General Practice in 1997. He has broad experience in the full range of general practice from paediatrics to adult general medicine and chronic disease management. Dr Simon has a particular interest in mental health disorders such as mood disorders and anxiety. He also performs minor surgery such as skin biopsy and the removal of small cysts and skin lesions.

Dealing well with mental health takes time. If you would like to see Dr Simon about anxiety, depression or other mental health matters he asks that you book a longer appointment. Generally 45 minutes is appropriate for an initial assessment and 30 minutes for review.
Current hours: Mondays & Fridays all day, Tuesday & Thursday mornings.

Dr Sharon Lim

Dr Sharon has been at Fountain Street General Practice for the last 6 years. Previously working in the Sutherland Shire and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. She has extensive paediatric experience and has special interests in women’s health but often treats the whole family. She is trained to insert and remove Implanons.
Current hours: Mondays to Thursdays.

Dr Jennifer Morrison

Dr Jenny is a GP with a particular interest in the health of young families, including paediatrics, antenatal care, sexual/reproductive health, and psychological medicine such as postnatal depression and anxiety. She is able to insert and remove Implanons and administers iron infusions in suitable patients. She is a graduate of the University of Sydney and has worked in both urban and rural settings as a hospital doctor and a GP. Dr Jenny also holds a Diploma in Child Health, a Masters in Public Health, and the Family Planning NSW Certificate in Sexual Health. 
Current hours: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Jenny works some Saturdays, rotating with the other GPs on a monthly basis.

Dr Penelope Elix

Dr Penelope is a GP with an interest in women’s health, adolescent health, sexual health and paediatrics. She graduated from the University of Sydney Graduate Medical Programme in 2006. She has gained her Diploma in Child Health and Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2009. She recently completed her General Practice Fellowship and is passionate about General Practice.
Current Hours: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Dr Brian Lim Min Loong

Dr Brian graduated from The University of New South Wales in 2007 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Brian is a general practitioner who practices all aspects of general practice. He has a special interest in skin cancer medicine. He has completed a number of certificates in skin cancer medicine, namely –

*The Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine with the University of Queensland,

*The Professional Certificate of Dermoscopy and

*The Certificate in The Prevention and Early Detection of Skin cancer.

Dr Brian offers thorough full body skin checks to his patients and performs onsite skin cancer related procedures such as skin lesion biopsies, excisions of skin cancers/ basal cell carcinoma/ squamous cell carcinoma/ melanoma, and certain cysts removal. He is fluent in both English and French. He enjoys educating patients about their medical issues to help them understand and be able to make informed decisions regarding their health.
Current hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Nancy Yiin

Dr Nancy grew up in Taiwan before moving to New Zealand – where she completed all her schooling. She graduated from The University of New South Wakes and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has previously worked in different urban and rural hospitals & general practices for quite a number of years.

Dr Nancy is a general practitioner who enjoys all aspects of family medicine. She has special interest in women’s health, antenatal(pregnancy) shared care, family planning, sexual health and paediatrics.

She has completed a certificate in Women’s Health with RANZCOG and Family Planning NSW. She is affiliated with both The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick & The Royal Price Alfred hospital for antennal shared care. She is also able to perform onsite procedures such as Implanon insertion & removal, Mirena removal and minor skin procedures.

Dr Nancy is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Current hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dr Rebecca Blake

Dr Rebecca graduated from the University of NSW in 2002 and has worked in multiple practices around NSW. She has an interest in public health and family medicine.
Current Hours: Dr Rebecca is currently on maternity leave.

Dr Sofie Roberts

Dr Sofie graduated from Monash University in Melbourne in 1998. She has significant experience working in both rural and urban, hospital and general practice settings. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and her areas of special interest include: paediatric, adolescent and women’s health, travel medicine, skin cancer medicine and minor procedures.
Current Hours: Mondays to Wednesdays.

Practice Nurses

We have four practice nurses, Anne Maree, Maureen, Rowena and Jen, who have extensive nursing experience both in the hospital and community settings. They provide vaccinations, wound management, health checks and other services to our patients, and also provide assistance to the doctors in emergency treatment of sick patients. In addition, it is practice policy that all phone calls of a clinical nature are initially put through to the nurses.

Practice Manager

Leanne works full-time as our practice manager and supports the clinical and administrative staff in the day to day running of the practice. Leanne was the general manager of a national fashion retail company before joining us and we are very lucky to have her to keep us all in line.

Receptionists

Our receptionists come from a variety of backgrounds, and are all friendly, professional and happy to help you. Our Fountain Street reception team members are Lyn, Kim, Nikki, Siobhan, Rebecca and Sam.
