Telehealth

In the current climate of widespread community transmission of COVID-19, we will only be undertaking telehealth appointments (phone or video) to reduce the risk of infection to our staff.

Christmas closure

To give our receptionists, nurses and doctors a very well-earned rest, we will be closed from Friday 24 December 2021 to Monday 3 January 2022, inclusive. We will reopen on Tuesday 4 January 2022.

We would like to wish all our patients the very best for the holiday season, and hope that you all manage to have a wonderful and restful break after these past few challenging years.

COVID-19 vaccine third doses & boosters

We have recommenced COVID-19 vaccination clinics to provide booster shots for our existing patients whose second dose was at least 5 months ago. If you are (or soon will be) eligible, please contact Fountain Street General Practice on 8303 2900 to book an appointment. Clinics are being held Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

People who are severely immunocompromised are recommended to have a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine 2-6 months after their second dose. If you believe that you fall into this category and have not yet received a third dose, please contact the practice to make an appointment with your usual doctor to discuss your eligibility.

Getting your COVID-19 vaccination record

Our practice has been inundated with phone calls requesting print-outs of COVID-19 vaccination records, which is preventing our nurses from undertaking essential patient care. Please read the following carefully.

Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination will be recorded on your immunisation history statement after you’ve had your vaccine. Once you have received all required doses, you will also be able to access your COVID-19 digital certificate. You can get proof of your COVID-19 vaccination through:

  • Medicare online account
  • Express Plus Medicare app
  • My Health Record
  • Individual Healthcare Identifiers Service
  • Australian Immunisation Register

Saturdays

The practice will resume patient consultations on Saturdays from 23 October 2021. Telehealth consultations will still be preferable and can be booked online.

Telehealth consultations

Due to the worsening COVID situation, we will only be undertaking telehealth consultations, unless your doctor deems it absolutely necessary for you to visit the practice – for example, immunisations, antenatal care, wound care.

If you do have a face-to-face appointment, do NOT enter the practice if you have respiratory symptoms without a current NEGATIVE COVID test (within 3 days) or have been to any exposure locations.  You must WEAR A MASK and stay OUTSIDE of the building & PHONE RECEPTION once you have arrived for your appointment. Your doctor or nurse will call you when they are ready to see you. You must check in via QR code & wash your hands upon entry.
