Coronavirus Covid-19 Updates
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
Due to CORONAVIRUS we have made a number of changes:
During this current outbreak we are now only undertaking telehealth appointments – however we continue to offer standard face to face consultations for those deemed by your doctor as absolutely necessary – for example, immunisations, antenatal care, wound care.
Telehealth consults are usually privately charged. Your doctor will discuss this with you at the beginning of the consult. Please note your doctor will call you at the nominated appointment time or as close to this time as possible. Please be available to take the call and be in a private, quiet area. The call MAY be from a “NO CALLER ID”.
If a FACE to FACE appointment is necessary and you have symptoms, no matter how minor, of fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat , shortness of breath or diarrhoea, you will need a negative Covid test within the previous 3 days. You can find your nearest COVID testing clinic here. Please call reception on 8303 2900 so we can assess your needs and allocate you a suitable appointment.
PLEASE CALL UPON ARRIVAL for instructions.
Once you have entered the practice, we ask all patients to WEAR A MASK, check in with our QR Code, wash your hands using the alcohol handrub available, and PLEASE MAINTAIN social distancing while you wait.
Please do not use online bookings for emergencies or urgent medical appointments. For emergencies, please call “000” or present to your nearest Emergency Department.
Fountain Street General Practice holds COVID vaccination clinics on Tuesdays to Saturdays. Due to limited supply, we are only providing vaccines to our existing patients. If you have any questions or concerns relating to COVID vaccines, please make a telehealth consultation with your usual GP prior to booking in to the COVID vaccine clinic. If you would like to receive a COVID vaccine, please call 02 8303 2900 to make a booking.
AstraZeneca – Fountain Street General Practice is currently administering AstraZeneca vaccines to our current patients aged 60 years and over, and also to those aged 18-39 who are not yet eligible for the Pfizer vaccine.
Please phone our practice to book your appointment on 02 8303 2900. If you are under the age of 60, you will need to have a dedicated consultation (bulk billed) with your doctor in order to make an informed decision before receiving the vaccination. During the current outbreak, following the advice of NSW Health, the 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine can be administered at an interval of at 4-6 weeks following the first dose.
Pfizer – Fountain Street General Practice is currently administering Pfizer vaccines to our current patients that are in the 40-59 year age category or 16-39 year-olds in the 1a and 1b eligibility groups.
Please note our practice is not taking new patients. If you are eligible for the above, please phone our practice to book your appointment on 02 8303 2900.
